I was in a jumper show yesterday (July 26, 2006) on my horse/pony Rhumba in a 2'-2'3" division against like 20 other people, including my sister. So, in the last class, the reults were called: I got sixth. I was so excited I would have ran to get my ribbon but my mother told me to walk, which is reasonable, my horse was pooped. I got over there, the judge was rechecking everything. There was a three way tie for 1st, but they kept 2nd and 3rd. Turns out, 5th place got 6th, I got nothing. Rachel (I know the judge) was stupid enough not to double check her work. She should've kept the results or double checked befroe being announced. So, for her ignorance, I recieved nothing, with hopes of my green ribbon. Normally, I do not cry when not placed, but this woman had the audacity to ruin the spirits of people. I would have rather not gotten anything or even known I would've gotten something.
And on top of that, my family and I are having grandparent issues. My mother's father has Alzhiemers, my father's father had a lung removed from cancer, and now we're going to Michigan to see my father' father. But my mother is going to Virginia to see her father. And the day after the returns is a CT (Combined Training) at the Harford County Equestrian Center. She says we (my sis and I) can do but she might not, for she'll be gone the week before. I offered to ride her horse (Partner - used to be Parallel Lines, now Partner in Crime) for her that week but she said no, that he was too much horse too handle. Well excuse me if I can't handle a horse after training two and retraining another one (Rhumba and Double Dutch, now great, Amazing Mac [Mac]-retraining, 17 years old). That does something to you when your mother doesn't believe in your horse handling skills. Well excuuuuse me!
